Wildlife viewing is incomplete without a stopover at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to visit the endangered mountain Gorillas. The forest is a habitant for over half of the worlds endangered mountain gorillas. It comprises of mist-covered hillsides, hilly terrain and penetrating it requires a certain level of fitness.
This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as forest elephants and antelopes. There are around 350 species of birds hosted in this forest, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.
