This trip focuses first, on the endangered Mountain gorillas, then comes QENP which is rightly famous for game and the boat ride on Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel is a long natural channel that links 2 lakes in the region; Lake George and Lake Edward. The shores of the channel draw a vast number of animals making it one of the most important features in Queen Elizabeth.

Itinerary

DAY 1 | TRANSFER TO BWINDI NP | MEAL PLAN: HB

You will be met by a Dust Absolut representative at your hotel lobby whence he will briefly run through the safari itinerary. A few minutes later, embark on your journey to Bwindi Forest going through Kabale a small indigenous town, with beautiful scenery of hills and valleys, terrace farming almost everywhere. Kabale and its geography is known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa”.

Arriving in Kisoro in the early evening, just in time to rest and get ready for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Overnight at a comfortable lodge/guesthouse.

DAY 2 | GORILLA TREKKING | MEAL PLAN: HB

The long awaited gorilla tracking experience is here!
Tracking Gorillas is one of the absolute highlights of your safari. You will have a very early breakfast and drive to the park entry for a pre-briefing during which you will be grouped into 8, assigned guides, armed rangers and then let loose into the forest.

Trekking may take between 3 and 8 hours - depending on where the gorillas have wandered off, but every distance covered is well worth the effort.

After you meet the gentle giants you are allowed an hour with them, then you will hike back to the park headquarters.

Day ends with reminiscing about the day with dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge/guesthouse.

DAY 3 | TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NP | MEAL PLAN: HB

Today we drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park known for practically 100 mammal species & counting; Elephants, Buffalo, Lions, Hyena, Warthog, Waterbuck, Oribi and Uganda Kob. The park, furthermore has 610 verified bird species, 54 raptors with virtually every water-bird species resident in Uganda and a variety of woodland and forest birds, the latter mainly confined in the maramagambo forest.

Famous in this park is the Kazinga Channel with the most popular activity being a launch cruise since its shores are a center for animal refreshments.

DAY 4 | GAME DRIVE & BOAT CRUISE | MEAL PLAN: HB

The first activity in this haven is an early morning game drive. We will drive in Kasenyi area before going back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.

In the afternoon take part in the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where chances of seeing Hippos huff and spray mere feet away from the boat are high, Buffalos linger in the shallows. The likelihood of Elephants awarding the boat cruisers with their presence is high. The park is also known for incredible variety of birds and some may be seen while on the boat.

DAY 5 | DEPARTURE | MEAL PLAN: BB

On this day, we will have a short game drive in the park to bid it farewell and drive to Entebbe. The drive is mostly smooth with a couple of photographic stops.
