Itinerary

DAY 1| KAMPALA TO NAIVASHA | MEAL PLAN: HB

Travel time; 12 hours’//Drive day; K’la to Naivasha

At 6; 00am we will depart Kampala for Naivasha, Kenya via Busia border. This long journey takes us through Jinja; a city for adrenaline junkies where one can take part in bungee jumping, white water rafting, and the like.

We will just drive through and head to the border. Clearance here takes about an hour or so. Shortly after, we will re-embark on our journey to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake to help us break the journey to Maasai Mara. It is a part of the Great Rift Valley surrounded by forests and is considered a world-class birding destination. Also, it is home to the famed Crescent Island

Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge

DAY 2| GAME DRIVE & BOAT RIDE | MEAL PLAN: HB

Travel time; 5-6 hours//Crescent Island visit + drive to Mara

In the morning we will visit Crescent Island – a predator-free island where wild animals roam and get up-close & personal with humans. There’s an option to ride a boat to the island and walk back. But given time constraints, we will drive there (Unless otherwise). Be sure you will get a real insight into the issues of conservation and climate change. A much-needed intellectual pit stop!

At 10 am, we will embark on our journey to Maasai Mara reserve through the long Rift valley escapement to Narok Town. While there your guide may suggest places for a quick rest and refreshments, or you can choose an alternative spot that sparks your interest.

DAY 3| FULL DAY GAME DRIVES | MEAL PLAN: HB

Full day game drives

On this day you will wake up as early as 0630 am, then proceed for your Buffet Breakfast before preparing for a full day game drive. You will have 30min of breakfast and thereafter leave for the whole day game drive packed with your picnic lunch. You will start spotting animals at a very close distance and we advise our guests to have all their cameras ready as the animals are in their natural habitats and actions takes place without notice, this early morning you might capture the Lion kills as well as cheetahs strategizing a hunt before the sun gets hot.

We will have a picnic lunch at the Mara River, a spot where the wildebeest may be seen crossing over to Tanzania.

Overnight at camp/lodge

DAY 4 | TRANSFER TO LAKE NAKURU | MEAL PLAN: HB

Travel time; 5-6 hours/ AM game drive + drive to Nakuru + possible drive to Makalia falls?

In the morning we will have one last game drive in the park and later drive to Lake Nakuru, a rift valley lake from which the national park derives its name. The lake's abundance of algae is used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously align the shore.

Our day ends with a relaxing overnight at a camp/lodge

DAY 5 | TRANSFER TO KAMPALA | MEAL PLAN: BB

Travel time; 9hours//AM visit the Out Of Africa Lookout + drive to K’la

On this last day, last stretch back home- Kampala.
