This is a three days trip to the unforgettable Murchison Falls, with a two nights stay at a budget or mid-range lodge. On day one, there is an opportunity to stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and later proceed to Murchison falls NP. Where on the menu are unforgettable game drives and boat safari.

Itinerary

DAY 1 | TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NP | MEAL PLAN: HB

Very early in the morning you will embark on your journey up north-east to Murchison Falls NP, Uganda’s largest protected area and one of the most exciting. You will take a pit stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola. The sanctuary was created in a bid to reintroduce the southern white rhinos in the wild and that’s quite close to happening.

On arrival at the sanctuary, place your lunch orders, meet for a pre-briefing and thereafter start the trek to the rhinos in the company of an armed ranger.
The trek ends just in time for lunch. Afterwards, the safari continues to Murchison Falls via budongo forest, with baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and other primate sightings.

Dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge

DAY 2 | GAME DRIVE & BOAT RIDE | MEAL PLAN: HB

On your second day, a game searching safari starts quite early, returning to the lodge a little later for a hearty breakfast. Depending on the lodging location, you might need to cross with the ferry to do the game drive which will give you an opportunity to see elephants, antelopes, giraffes, lion prides, and buffalo herds. For birder-lovers, the secretary bird and black chested snake eagle inhabit this park, though are elusive.

In the afternoon take part in the River Nile boat cruise which goes right to the base of the falls. During the cruise, a lot of hippos and elephants can be seen by the shoreline. There are also bird varieties to be seen like, bee-eaters (carmine, little, red-throated and swallow-tailed), kingfishers, black-crowned night heron, red-necked falcon, harrier hawk, brown snake eagle and fish eagle. You have an option to disembark and hike to the top of the falls. The hike is fairly easy and the view from the top is well worth every effort.

DAY 3 | DEPARTURE | MEAL PLAN: BB

After breakfast, have a short game drive in the park as we bid this beautiful park Goodbye and then proceed to Entebbe or Kampala. The rest of the drive to Entebbe International Airport is a smooth one. We will have a stopover for lunch, and use of furnished rest area en-route.
